Council offers art advice
A new Auckland City Council advisory panel will provide expert advice on public art projects.
The formation of the advisory panel for public art is part of the council’s new public art policy.
The aim of the pol- icy is to improve the quality of public art in Auckland, create a dedicated fund for public artworks, and make it easier for people to work with the council to deliver high quality public art.
Arts, culture and recreation committee chairman Greg Moyle says the council is committed to making the city a place where art is available to everyone.
“We want to ensure that we have the right people to make the right choices about public art,” he says.
Nominations are now open for people with necessary skills and commitment to join the advisory panel.
For more details phone the council on 379-2020.
Applications close on Saturday, September 13.
