Plant Valonia

Central Leader - - Letters -

Recently I found myself in Valonia Reserve, on the opposite side of Oakley Creek from the Allan Wood Reserve.

The Allan Wood Reserve has a footpath and is maintained by the Auckland City Council.

Valonia, on the other hand, has an unkept look, with the potential to become a natural wetland area.

Could it be planted, not just with fl axes, but other water loving plants?

This would attract more birds, it would still act as a natural drainage area for New Windsor, plus absorbing the carbon which

we humans continue to produce. S H E E L A H C H A L K L E N
