The Cornwall Cricket Club’s junior division has notched up four fi gures.

They recently registered their 1000th junior player for the season, giving them the biggest junior base in Auckland by several hundred members.

Parnell and HowickPakuranga are closest to Cornwall’s numbers, but are several hundred behind.

Cornwall club manager Adrian Dale says a dedicated team of volunteers who help run the junior programme make the job a lot easier.

“We’ve grown at a manageable rate over the last 10 years, so it’s not something that’s been lumped on us for the fi rst time.”

Dale suspects the club has the biggest junior membership in New Zealand after talking to club offi cials from around the country during the national club champs, which Cornwall hosts every year.
