The name Tisco has been synonymous with TV and electronics servicing since 1959 - and today is still regarded as THE technology innova- tion service company, servicing virtually every brand of electronic product sold here.

Most people associate Tisco with TV servic- ing; indeed they support, service and install most brands and support extend warranty insurers for televisions, LCD, plasma, projection theatre systems and Freeview compliant Sommet brand set top boxes. But they are equally active installing and servicing computers - PCs, monitors, printers, scanners and other pc peripherals - along with security systems, CCTV, access control and voice-over IP telephone systems.

Recently Tisco centralised its Auckland operations in a high-tech centre in Onehunga and services all of Auckland through its mobile technicians and authorised agents. The company provides daily pick-up and delivery through this centralised ops centre/showroom in Church St.

As the first ‘port of call’ for televisions and other electronic products requiring refurbishment or repair, the showroom always has a stock of seconds - these are in full working order, come with a warranty, and are attractively priced.

Tisco NZ managing director Ken Shilling says Tisco’s centralisation has brought a new demand for technicians.

“The company is currently looking to employ more experienced service technicians who meet the ‘Tisco standard’ of technical expertise and service,” he says. Another appointment will be made for a counter/ phone/sales assistant.

Tisco is the exclusive service agent for the Sommet range of Freeview terrestrial set top boxes, having played a technical role in the establishment of Freeview technology in New Zealand.

While the latest technology TVs have this technology installed within the sets, it is estimated that there are still over 200,000 flat screen TVs in New Zealand requiring set top boxes to receive Freeview.

Tisco is also a leading supplier and installer of affordable security systems for 24/7 surveillance of premises, and has come up with the perfect package for small businesses who
