Find out how to prevent a broken heart next month at a free public lecture on heart disease.
The October 21 lecture, sponsored by the Auckland Medical Research Foundation, is to raise public awareness of cardiovascular disease, which encompasses heart, stroke and blood vessel disease.
It’s the leading cause of death in New Zealand, accounting for 40 percent of deaths every year, many of which are premature and preventable.
Speakers professor Harvey White and professor Lynn Ferguson will speak at 7pm in Lecture Room 3, in the Owen Glenn building, Auckland University Business School.
Professor White is regarded as one of the world’s leading cardiologists, contributing to leading trials and training, and Professor Ferguson has spent 34 years researching how food affects the health of humans at a genetic level.
