Pasi­fika prin­ci­pals step up

The New Zealand Pasi­fika Prin­ci­pals As­so­ci­a­tion has been launched at a cer­e­mony at One Tree Hill Col­lege.

The as­so­ci­a­tion, the first of its kind in New Zealand, was ini­ti­ated at a meet­ing of a group of Pa­cific Is­land prin­ci­pals in New Zealand in 2006. Its aims in­clude ad­vanc­ing the cause of Pasi­fika ed­u­ca­tion, pro­mot­ing prin­ci­pal­ship and ca­reer de­vel­op­ment pro­grammes for Pasi­fika teach­ers and rep­re­sent- ing its mem­bers in Pasi­fika ed­u­ca­tion.

In­cluded on the five­mem­ber ex­ec­u­tive com­mit­tee is Mt Al­bert Pri­mary School prin­ci­pal Enosa Auva’a and One Tree Hill Col­lege prin­ci­pal Iva Ropati.
