An online auction is raising money to provide Christmas hampers for families in need.
Items up for sale in the TradeMe auction include a walk-on part in Shortland Street, Gold Class cinema tickets, and a year’s supply of fresh flowers.
The Life Centre Trust aims to raise enough money to distribute 6000 hampers through its annual Christmas Box appeal.
The programme has been running for seven years and has delivered more than 11,000 boxes.
Project manager Lili Lemalu says 500 volunteers work to pack the hampers which means every dollar raised can go towards buying food and treats.
The boxes are given out by community groups including the Women’s Refuge, Barnardos and the Auckland City Mission.
Donations can also be made directly through the webpage www.christ masbox.co.nz.
