Visiting therapist to speak
Canadian social worker and family therapist Dr Michael Ungar will speak at a public event tomorrow night.
The author of Too Safe For Their Own Good: How Risk and Responsibility Helps Teens Thrive will speak at Western Springs College at 7pm.
Dr Ungar has worked with young people and their families for 20 years.
He says that while our children are safer than at any other time in history, he believes there is a connection between the security offered to children and troubling behaviours like drug abuse, early sexual activity, violence and truancy.
Tickets are $10 and can be purchased through Western Springs College or at the door.
