Kindy teachers turn litter-busters

Central Leader - - News -

Kindy teachers rolled up their sleeves to help clean up Auckland beaches on Friday.

About 350 teachers picked up rubbish at Takapuna, Onehunga Bay, Pt England, Pt Chevalier, Green Bay and Blockhouse Bay.

Teachers then collected data on the litter for a project by the Sir Peter Blake Trust, which tracks where the rubbish comes from.

The beach clean-up completes events marking the Auckland Kindergarten Association centennial. The association has 107 kindies serving 14,000 Auckland children.
