Flood of feedback on $18m cup plan
More than 200 people have had a say on plans to revamp Sandringham Rd ahead of the Rugby World Cup.
The Auckland City Council has received 215 feedback forms, letters and emails on the proposal.
The $18 million plan would see Sandringham Rd realigned to make way for a wider Kingsland railway station platform.
New bus lanes would be added and the intersection with Walters Rd redesigned.
A $3m link lane between Walters Rd and Sandringham Rd has also been proposed, which would mean removing existing houses.
Submissions on the plan are now closed, and the feedback will be reported to the council’s transport committee on December 4.
