The Jellicoe Park celebration also features local music groups, carol singing, face painting, a visit from Santa and the traditional lighting of the Christmas tree.
Carols by Candlelight events take place during December in Ponsonby, Three Kings, St Heliers, Balmoral and Waiheke Island.
Otahuhu joins the festivi- ties on December 13 with Christmas performances, face painting, clowns and a special visit from Santa.
Avondale spins its own yuletide web with Carols by Spiderlight on December 14.
Arts, culture and recreation committee chairman Greg Moyle encourages everyone to come along and celebrate the season.
“These events are a great opportunity for families and friends to get into the spirit of Christmas with others in their local community,” he says.
