Haycock Ave

Central Leader - - Letters -

Regarding Haycock Ave (Drivers cross the line, Central Leader, January 9), how many injury accidents have occurred there?

In July 2006, I was the victim of an injury accident when a car ran out of control at the corner of John Davis Rd and Haycock Ave.

Local residents who came to my aid told me of numerous accidents at that corner.

Despite repeated pleas to the Auckland City Council, nothing has been done.

Since that time the chevron speed and skid signs have been renewed but obviously the accidents still occur.

Splitter islands may work, but poorly placed they could still cause more vehicles to hurtle out of control should they be struck.

Action is needed before more injuries or deaths and repeated damage to vehicles and property. MARGARET OATEN
