Wired for Kiwi life
Mt Roskill’s Wesley Community Centre hosted the Computers in Homes graduation last Tuesday for the 13 Auckland families from refugee backgrounds who finished the course.
The families were provided with a computer and internet access along with training, skills and support to use the technology to help them to adjust to New Zealand life.
Computers in Homes brings information and communication technology to low-income communities and families with a refugee back- ground, allowing parents and grandparents to connect with their children’s learning and the wider community.
The graduation was attended by Regional Refugee Education Minister Abraham Mamer and National list MP Jackie Blue.
