Pa­cific writer res­i­dency in Hawaii on of­fer

Ful­bright New Zealand and Creative New Zealand are looking for applications for a three-month Pa­cific writer’s res­i­dency.

It of­fers a New Zealand writer of Pa­cific her­itage the op­por­tu­nity to work on a creative writ­ing project ex­plor­ing Pa­cific iden­tity, cul­ture or his­tory at the Uni­ver­sity of Hawaii and is val­ued at $30,000.

It is open to writ­ers across all gen­res, in­clud­ing fic­tion and non­fic­tion au­thors, play­wrights, poets and screen writ­ers.

Pre­vi­ous re­cip­i­ents have in- cluded film­maker Sima Urale, per­for­mance poet Tu­si­ata Avia, play­wright Vic­tor Rodger and chil­dren’s au­thor Sarona AionoIosefa. Applications close on April 6. For more in­for­ma­tion visit www.ful­bright.org.nz or phone 354-4863.
