Hazardous waste stop
The HazMobile is coming to Western Springs next month.
The service provides safe collection of hazardous waste like oil, batteries, aerosol cans and fluorescent tubes and bulbs.
HazMobile coordinator Sandi Murray says it’s almost like a waste drivethrough service.
“People pop their boots and we cart their household waste away.”
Last year more than 8000 people disposed of 200 tonnes of hazardous waste at HazMobile collections.
All waste is disposed of safely so that hazardous materials do not end up in landfills.
The Western Springs collection takes place on April 4 at the public carpark on Motions Rd, near the zoo entrance from 10am until 2pm.
