The Child Cancer Foundation is calling for collectors to hit the streets during its appeal next week.
Volunteers need to be available for two hours to collect on street corners or at shopping malls between March 23 and 29.
Child Cancer Foundation chief executive Neil Porteous says funds raised go towards petrol and accommodation vouchers and support workers for affected families.
It also funds things such as scholarships and medical research.
He says with more than 150 New Zealand children diagnosed with cancer each year, it’s a great opportunity for the public to support those in need.
The foundation receives no funding from the government or other cancer support agencies.
