Com­mu­nity board by­elec­tion dead­line looms

The chance to vote for one of five Eden-Al­bert Com­mu­nity Board candidates in this year’s by­elec­tion is near­ing.

If vot­ing pa­pers have not ar­rived in the mail­box, your en­rol­ment de- tails need up­dat­ing.

En­rol­ments to vote will be ac­cepted up to noon on polling day, April 9.

The com­mu­nity board is an elected body which pro­vides a di­rect link be- tween lo­cals and Auck­land City Coun­cil.

There are 10 com­mu­nity boards in cen­tral Auck­land that make de­ci­sions for the com­mu­nity and mon­i­tor ser­vices pro­vided by the coun­cil.

The five candidates run­ning for the seat are Peter Boys of the EdenAl­bert Ratepay­ers and Res­i­dents As­so­ci­a­tion, in­de­pen­dent can­di­date Tom Brether­ton, Julie Cooke of Cit­i­zens & Ratepay­ers, Bob Dem­ler of Fo­cus Eden Al­bert and City Vi­sion can­di­date Si­mon Mitchell.
