Dental Today: High-tech makes all the difference

Central Leader - - News -

Let’s face it, first impressions are crucial in social life. But without good teeth and gums, not only does your appearance and confidence suffer, basic tasks like eating and speaking become difficult as well.

However, you don’t have to suffer in silence as quality dentistry is now within reach.

Onehunga-based Dental Today is a family oriented practice where you can obtain comprehensive dental services in a stress-free environment.

Experienced dentist Dr Johay Amith, who has more than 15 years in dental implant, has a gentle approach which immediately puts patients at ease.

Dr Amith says dental implants can replace missing teeth and represent an alternative to dentures or bridgework. The advantages vary by patient and type of restoration but may include stabilised loose dentures, im- proved chewing ability, better speech, greater comfort, and improved self-esteem.

The implant itself is made from a titanium alloy and is surgically implanted in the jawbone to function like the root of your missing tooth. Implants are usually placed under local anaesthesia in the dentist’s office.

The procedure involved in placing the implants is generally no more painful than having any regular dental treatments.

Along with implants, Dental Today provides Invisalign, which is the latest high-tech way to straighten teeth without the need for unsightly braces.

Invisalign is the invisible way to straighten teeth using custom-made, nearly undetectable aligners. Whether your teeth are crowded, too far apart or have shifted since wearing braces, you will have a new reason to smile.

Dental Today looks after all the regular dental needs of patients, together with cosmetic dentistry, root canal treatment, implants, teeth whitening, crowns, bridges and dentures.

At Dental Today the initial examination and consultation is free; the dentist will advise you of the treatment needed, details and benefits of each option.

The practice hours are 9am-6pm MondayFriday and Saturday by appointment.

Dental Today is in the blue bungalow at 66 Church St, Onehunga, with plenty of customer parking.
