Your start to a rewarding IT career
Information technology is one of the world’s fastest growing industries, and qualified technicians will always be assured of well paid, rewarding careers.
The ideal first step on the path to becoming an IT professional is enrolling in the Avonmore courses offered at New Zealand Institute of Education’s Takapuna campus.
Avonmore provides both the Diploma in Computer Network Engineering (Level 5) and the Diploma in Computer Network Systems Engineering (level 6).
Students sit the CompTIA A+, Network+ and Microsoft Certified Partner qualifications as part of their course – these are internationally recognised and open the door to opportunities anywhere in the world.
Careers which can be attained include computer technician, user support, sales, network installation, network design, network administration, IT management and more.
The courses are full time for 37 weeks for each level, and the Level 5 course can be done as two modules, each certificated. Class sizes average from 15 to 20 students and lab sessions have a maximum of six students at any one time, which means there is plenty of opportunity for one-on-one tuition.
Course tutor Raymond Mok is an IT professional with 12 years experience. He is available for after-class tutorials if students need extra assistance.
In these courses you will experience situations very similar to those you will find in the workplace, aided by practical, hands-on learning and assessments.
Avonmore has been established since 1988 and is NZQA accredited and registered. Its head office is in Christchurch and it has been established on the North Shore for the past eight years.
NZIE’s new premises at 62 Anzac St, Takapuna feature top quality computer equipment and student amenities. Student loans and allowances are available.
The next intake for the Level 5 course is on March 30. For enrolment information and further details of the courses, phone Avonmore on 0800-248-666 or visit www,nzie.ac.nz.
