Mt Eden village will host its first street market this Saturday.
The Village Fete, from 11am to 4pm, will be packed with food and drink, music and plenty of entertainment and is set to be a regular highlight on the Mt Eden calendar.
Shopkeepers’ stalls will line the street with salepriced goods and tempting food.
Also along the street will be three decadently dressed rooms – a Samoan fale, an English drawing room, and a Turkish hookah room – created especially for the fete for people to take a break from the sights, sounds and smells.
Musicians will also perform along the shop fronts and Ngauruhoe St will be closed to traffic, allowing the public to flow through.
