How chiropractic care can improve your life

When the average person thinks about chiropractic, chances are they don’t understand what it is.

More often than not, people go to chiropractor for the first time for relief from back or neck pain.

But what many don’t realise is that they need not have a specific complaint to greatly benefit from a visit.

“Chiropractic care is suitable for everyone from infants to the elderly,” says Dr Trevor Harbrow of Harbrow Family Chiropractic, a family-friendly, homebased practice that recently opened in St Heliers.

“In addition to helping with specific problems, chiropractic care is also a great tool for enhanc- ing your body’s overall health and wellbeing. If you’ve got a spine you can benefit from it,” he says.

“It’s a safe and effective form of healthcare that involves analysing and adjusting areas of the spine to remove nerve interference, allowing it to function and perform to its full potential. When we do this it’s often surprising how much better people feel and function.”

Trevor’s interest in chiropractic began at age 15 after his father developed chronic back pain.

“He’d get a searing pain down his leg that would be so bad it would cause him to drop to his stomach. He was given two options – to sell his farm or for me to leave school at 15 and take over. Neither option was particularly appealing, so as a last resort he went to see a chiropractor who sorted the problem, allowing him to keep working.”

As well as providing pain relief, chiropractic care can also assist with common childhood disorders, stress-related problems, raising energy levels, improving posture, gaining better sleep and aiding athletic performance – something that Trevor, who’s also a martial arts enthusiast, can vouch for.

Phone 585-2114 and make an appointment today.

You’ll find Harbrow Family Chiropractic at 114 Long Drive, St Heliers.
