Big day at zoo

An Easter hol­i­day pro­gramme at Auck­land Zoo will of­fer some in­sights into the won­der­ful world of pachy­derms.

Chil­dren vis­it­ing the zoo can take part in Op­er­a­tion Pachy­derm, a chal­lenge to gather in­for­ma­tion about the zoo’s ele­phants.

There will also be free daily shows and walks around the zoo with ele­phants Kashin and Burma as well as sched­uled ele­phant en­coun­ters.

Those in­ter­ested in be­com­ing agents of Op­er­a­tion Pachy­derm should go to the zoo’s main plaza for their di­rec­tions and code words for their mis­sion.

Each day will be­gin with free shows at 10.45am and 11.45am at the ele­phant en­clo­sure.
