Women wanted for study

Central Leader - - News -

If you’re ready to get off the couch and hit the gym, Cushla Storey may have the programme for you.

The Unitec masters student is looking for women aged 18 to 50 who don’t do any exercise to take part in an eight-week programme to test how strength training affects muscle sensitivity.

Participants will have access to gym facilities during their three training sessions each week and will have their muscle sensitivity tested before and after the research period.

Exercises included in the programme include weight training, lunges and squats.

Findings from the study could also help patients who suffer chronic pain if the research indicates there is less pain after exercise.

For more information call Cushla on 021-042-9619 or email uniters@ hotmail.com.
