Halberg Trust has funding for sports

Central Leader - - News -

The Halberg Trust is offering to help fund the sporting dreams of disabled youngsters.

Applications can be made to help disabled youth take part in physical activities or to access equipment.

Funding covers costs over and above what it would cost for an ablebodied child to participate, so some contribution from the family is usually required.

Applications can be put forward on behalf of children 18 and under with a disability.

The minimum age for swimming lessons is five years old, while for all other applications it is eight.

The maximum grant for equipment is $1500, with two grants available in a lifetime.

The maximum grant for lessons is $200 once a year.

Funding decisions are made by a committee on a monthly basis.
