Stolen goods return

Central Leader - - News -

Some of the goods stolen from an Epsom couple when their van was taken from a service station have been returned, but they are hoping more will turn up.

Lidia and Edgar Sanchez had their van stolen from the Royal Oak Shell station on March 27 when it was loaded with Bolivian clothes and handcrafts they were taking to sell at a festival.

One of the 13 bags of goods was returned anonymously to the Onehunga police station after the story of the theft appeared in the Central Leader.

Senior sergeant Hirone Waretini says the person who dropped off the bag would not give any further information.

Mrs Sanchez says the thieves can have the van but she is desperate to recover the rest of the clothing and the tent and fittings the couple use to sell the goods at shows.

They have labels which say “Alpaca Suri-Bol” and are made in Bolivia.

The thieves can contact her on 027-440-4038 or by email at lidi252@ ya to return the goods, no questions asked.
