Mt Albert’s history buffs want your help
The Mt Albert Historical Society wants to hear from people with stories and mementos of Mt Albert’s past.
Spokeswoman Mary Inomata says items like old tram tickets, ration books, letters or photographs that may seem like they are of no value, may be of interest to others.
“Even paintings, school reports or programmes with some lo- cal connection will be rewarded with a cup of tea and light refreshments,” she says.
She asks budding historians to make sure they record names and dates on the back of any photos they want to archive.
The society next meets at 2pm at the Senior Citizens Hall at Mt Albert’s War Memorial Reserve, 751-761 New North Rd, on May 9.
