Children’s book illustrator Brian Lovelock will be touring New Zealand with 26 other writers and illustrators as part of the New Zealand Post Book Awards Festival.
From May 11 to 19, the finalists will visit schools, libraries and bookshops.
Mr Lovelock will host a workshop at 2pm at Grey Lynn library on May 11.
In addition, several readings of finalist picture books will be held for children. These include: • Design a bookplate competition – based on one of the finalists, May 1 to 18. Winners will receive a selection of finalist books • Pt Chevalier library will hold a reading at 10am on May 11 • Grey Lynn library will hold a storytime session on May 12 at 10am and at 10.30am in the central city library • On May 13 a storytime session will run at Blockhouse Bay library at 10.30am and 11am at the Mt Roskill community library • Avondale and Grey Lynn libraries will host storytime at 10am on May 14 and the Blockhouse Bay and Epsom libraries will have storytime at 10.30am • May 15 will see Pt Chevalier library host storytime at 10am, Leys Institute and Onehunga community library host it at 10.30am and Mt Albert community library at 11am • The central city library and Onehunga community library will host storytime at 10.30am on May 16 and 11am at Avondale, Mt Albert and Mt Roskill community libraries • On May 17 a storytime session will be held at 1pm at the Mt Albert community library.
