Planting days in reserves
Residents are invited to take part in a series of tree-planting days over the next month, organised by Auckland City Council.
The next planting day will take place at Kerr Taylor Park at Meola Creek on Saturday.
Helpers are to meet at the end of Ferguson Ave in Sandringham at 1pm.
On Sunday, there will be a planting day at Heron Park in Waterview.
Helpers are to meet at the carpark at the end of Cadman Place at 10am.
A planting day at Meola Reef Reserve on May 17 will celebrate 20 years of community plantings at the reserve.
Meet at the main carpark to the reserve at 10am.
Next will be a planting day at Hamlins Hill/ Mutukaroa in Penrose on May 24.
Meet at the main entrance on Great South Rd at 10am.
The final planting day is at Arawhata Reserve in Avondale on June 6.
Meet next to 80 Wingate St, Avondale, at 10am.
For all the planting days helpers should wear sturdy shoes, warm clothing and a raincoat and bring garden gloves and a spade where possible.
Light refreshments will be available.
