Plant­ing days in re­serves

Res­i­dents are in­vited to take part in a se­ries of tree-plant­ing days over the next month, or­gan­ised by Auck­land City Coun­cil.

The next plant­ing day will take place at Kerr Tay­lor Park at Meola Creek on Satur­day.

Helpers are to meet at the end of Fer­gu­son Ave in San­dring­ham at 1pm.

On Sun­day, there will be a plant­ing day at Heron Park in Waterview.

Helpers are to meet at the carpark at the end of Cad­man Place at 10am.

A plant­ing day at Meola Reef Re­serve on May 17 will cel­e­brate 20 years of com­mu­nity plant­ings at the re­serve.

Meet at the main carpark to the re­serve at 10am.

Next will be a plant­ing day at Ham­lins Hill/ Mu­tukaroa in Pen­rose on May 24.

Meet at the main en­trance on Great South Rd at 10am.

The fi­nal plant­ing day is at Arawhata Re­serve in Avon­dale on June 6.

Meet next to 80 Win­gate St, Avon­dale, at 10am.

For all the plant­ing days helpers should wear sturdy shoes, warm cloth­ing and a rain­coat and bring gar­den gloves and a spade where pos­si­ble.

Light re­fresh­ments will be avail­able.
