People are being encouraged to get together over a cuppa to mark Mercy Hospice Awareness Week next week.
This year the hospice is aiming to raise $2 million for awareness and hospice services in the community.
A number of events are taking place including: • Street collections will take place on May 15 and 16, with volunteers needed to shake buckets across Auckland city. To volunteer phone 3615966. • People are being urged to organise a Cup of Tea Moment in which groups of family and friends or workplaces can enjoy time together. The hospice will provide a poster, collection box and Dilmah tea and participants are asked for a gold coin donation. Register at www.mercy hospice.org.nz • New World Victoria Park, Panmure and Eastridge will be asking shoppers to add a donation to their grocery bill throughout the week • A number of hospice patients will attend a track day at Pukekohe on May 12 where they can have fun by taking a spin in performance cars.
