Free comics a success

Wet weather didn’t stop 800 people turning out to a Free Comic Book Day in Onehunga earlier this month.

Gotham Comics owner Jeremy Bishop says the event was a huge success and at one point there was a queue outside the store for 45 minutes.

“We had over 3000 comics to give away and everything went,” he says.

Mr Bishop says he is thankful to those who attended the day, with $490 donated to Onehunga Primary School’s library.

Guest wrestlers Kid Liger, Jason Burns and Liam Fury, and Cornflake the Clown were also on hand to entertain the crowd.
