Hot tips for raising kids

Central Leader - - News -

Building boys rather than fixing men and knowing what a girl needs to flourish in an imageconscious society, are the topics of two seminars at Mt Albert Grammar School next week.

The first seminar, Hot Tips for Growing Boys, will be held on Tuesday starting at 7.30pm.

It discusses the fact that boys will automatically get the “hardware” to be adult men, but that they need to download the “software” to be real men from good role models.

Hot Tips for Growing Girls will be held at the same time the following night and will look at the vital role that parents play when forming views of themselves, especially as they negotiate puberty.

The seminars aim to inspire parents to meet these challenges, gain the skills and insights to help give children good family support, a positive peer group, a strong sense of self and healthy personal boundaries.

The cost for one person per seminar is $20 or $30 for a couple.

Both nights for one person costs $30 or $50 for a couple.
