Hear more clearly without paying dearly

In light of current economic pressures, it is important people with hearing loss are aware of potential funding options which can assist them in obtaining hearing aids.

• Anyone who is a SuperGold Card holder and who has not received hearing aids within the past five years is now entitled to a $500 subsidy per ear and this is certainly a sizeable contribution to the overall cost of hearing instruments.

• If you believe your hearing loss may have originated from an accident or a work-related noise exposure, you are eligible to lodge an ACC claim.

• If you have served within the New Zealand Defence Forces, you could be eligible for funded aids through War Pensions.

• If you are working full time, caring for a dependent person or volunteering full time, you may be eligible for partial hearing aid funding through Accessable.

Your Dilworth Hearing audiologist would be happy to discuss any of these funding options with you, and also to explore any other avenues that may be available to you.

Dilworth Hearing was established in 1961 by two of New Zealand’s pioneering ear, nose and throat specialists: Sir Patrick Moore and Dr Bruce Cornish.

Their original clinic is still in operation on the corner of Remuera Road and Dilworth Avenue. Since 1961, Dilworth Hearing has grown to have the largest team of experienced audiologists who work alongside some of Auckland’s most accomplished ear, nose and throat specialists. This unique relationship allows them to combine their expertise and provide patients with complete ear and hearing care.

At Dilworth Hearing, they work with all hearing aid manufacturers and so you can be assured of getting the most appropriate product to suit your needs and lifestyle.

Often hearing loss occurs so gradually you may not be aware of exactly how much sound you are missing out on. On average, it takes sev- en years for a person to seek help for their hearing loss and this means quality time has been wasted while they are not able to hear friends and family.

Dilworth Hearing was the first company to bring audiology to Auckland and are now pleased to offer their services at six convenient locations. They would be delighted to meet with you and to help you overcome your hearing difficulties.
