Orthodontics with orthodontists
Orthodontics is a specialised branch of dentistry dedicated to straightening crooked teeth and jaws. It offers many benefits, including healthier teeth and gums, improved appearance, and the greater confidence that comes with having an attractive smile.
Dr Prashant Zaveri is a highly skilled and experienced orthodontist who has helped many people to improve their appearance and dental health through orthodontic treatment.
Orthodontics is generally considered a treatment for children and adolescents. Dr Zaveri says there is no age limit for orthodontic treatment, as the biological process to move teeth is the same, and he has treated many adult patients successfully. Modern techniques allow the straightening of teeth without braces in some cases.
The orthodontic treatment process begins with a detailed analysis of the facial structures with the help of x-rays of the head and face, models of the teeth and photographs. Dr Zaveri can then devise treatment options which take into account the patient’s needs and budget.
In order to achieve the best orthodontic results, Dr Zaveri emphasises the importance of healthy teeth and gums. His vast experience in periodontics, a specialty dedicated to maintaining healthy gums and the treatment of gum disease, provides a unique and valuable feature in his treatment techniques.
Dentists have to pursue three years of further post-graduate studies to become a specialist orthodontist. Dr Zaveri attained a masters degree in orthodontics and in periodontics from the University of Mumbai. He was the first person to achieve this distinction of double masters degrees at the university’s dental faculty. He has completed his specialist registration in orthodontics in New Zealand and has been in private practice for the past 12 years in Auckland.
Dr Zaveri’s clinic is located on the ground floor of Building C of Ascot Office Park, Greenlane, near Ascot Hospital. This new facility is fitted with state-of-the-art equipment supported with procedures focused on patient safety including the highest standards of sterilisation techniques and low dose digital xray systems.
