ACG stu­dents em­brace their in­ner gang­ster!

Is this, pic­tured left, the re­sult of at­tend­ing Year 9 at ACG Par­nell Col­lege?

Well, no, ac­tu­ally, but this is Looney Ber­gonzi, a ‘spe­cial­ist’ gang­ster, a.k.a. a stu­dent in Year 9, who took part in this year’s mu­si­cal `Bugsy Malone’.

Di­rected by well­known Auck­land di­rec­tor and stage de­signer, Si­mon Cole­man, along with ac­claimed mu­si­cian and per­former, Ja­son Te Mete, as Mu­si­cal di­rec­tor, ACG’s re­cent pro­duc­tion of Bugsy Malone was a sparkling suc­cess and en­tranced ca­pac­ity audiences over sev­eral nights.

Tak­ing place in the Col­lege gym­na­sium, with tiered seat­ing for over 300 peo­ple, Si­mon’s tal­ents were given full rein and his in­ge­nious set de­sign filled the space and, with help from Ocea­nia Lighting and Sound, a first rate the­atre was cre­ated.
