Plunket fun-filled day for the littlies
A fun-filled day for the little people is what Mt Eden Plunket wants to give back to its local community tomorrow.
Young families are invited to celebrate Plunket Awareness Week at the Balmoral Baptist Church, on the corner of Dominion Rd and Queens Ave.
Rather than using the event to raise funds for Plunket as was traditionally done, the family fun day is all about raising awareness of its community service, says committee president Jennifer Miller.
“The day will give back to the almost 1000 families who have supported us in our ef- forts for so many years,” she says.
“We just want them to come along with their kids and enjoy the entertainment on offer.”
Plunket is New Zealand’s largest provider of support services for the development, health and well-being of children under five.
Goodies on offer for the children include patting the animals from Old MacDonald’s Farm, playing with fairies, face painting and a balloon to take home, while parents can buy sausages, coffee and cake to keep them going.
There will also be second- hand clothing, books, toys and a cake stall.
The festivities will take place at the Balmoral Baptist Church, 682 Dominion Rd, Balmoral, from 10am to 3pm.
