Eden Roskill turned around what’s been a poor start to the club cricket sea­son with two con­sec­u­tive twenty20 wins on Satur­day.

Af­ter four losses in a row in the past two week­ends, they hu­mil­i­ated Pa­p­a­toe­toe, dis­miss­ing the reign­ing twenty20 cham­pi­ons for just 74 at Lloyd Elsmore Park.

Eden Roskill posted 75-8 in show­ery con­di­tions, tak­ing out victory in the 19th over.

The suc­cess con­tin­ued for Eden Roskill as they fin­ished the day on an­other winning note against Uni­ver­sity Eller­slie in the af­ter­noon ses­sion, in the play­off for 11th place in the twenty20 com­pe­ti­tion.

Anand Mitha, 39, and San­jay Pa­tel, 35no, lead Eden Roskill to 136-5 be­fore Tim Hen­der­son’s 3-9 helped re­duce Uni­ver­sity Eller­slie to 1039.

Mean­while, Corn­wall couldn’t keep up their early sea­son form, los­ing to Waitakere City in their fi­nal round-robin game.

Auck­land bats­man Anaru Kitchen’s out­stand­ing knock of 91 led Waitakere City to a rain-ad­justed score of 168-3, be­fore Blair White’s 4-29 lim­ited Corn­wall to 136-8.

Corn­wall’s luck didn’t get any bet­ter in the play­off for fifth against Pa­p­a­toe­toe, post­ing just 83-8 from their 20 overs.

In re­ply Pa­p­a­toe­toe cruised to victory, notch­ing up 87-2 in just the 12th over.

Grafton United suf­fered a 22-run loss to North Shore in their fi­nal com­pe­ti­tion match. They man­aged 68-7 in re­ply to North Shore’s 93-7, while their play­off match for ninth against East Coast Bays was rained off. The one-day com­pe­ti­tion kicks off on Satur­day with Corn­wall host­ing Grafton at Corn­wall Park and Eden Roskill vis­it­ing Sub­urbs New Lynn at Ken Maun­der Park.
