StarJam performers were knocked for six when they collected a cheque for the proceeds from this year’s Grocery Charity Ball.

Generous members of New Zealand’s grocery industry raised $205,000 for StarJam, which al- lows for performers with a range of disabilities to pursue their talents live on stage.

Four of the trustees of the ball were on hand to present the cheque to StarJam.

Trust chairman Don Graham says the trustees are already hard at work on next year’s event and the toughest task is selecting a recipient charity.

There are already 56 applicants and the trustees will reduce that to a final list of five before making a final choice later in the month.
