Singers herald Christmas
The Orlando Singers hold their 40th Christmas concert tonight.
Concert-goers will be treated to some seasonal music as well as a glass of wine or juice and a mince pie.
The event is expected to be a lively concert where the singers are joined by Miran Park on the organ as occasional accompanist and solo performer.
Ponsonby Baptist Church has the oldest dated organ in Australasia – an Avery organ made in 1779.
The choir has 14 members and is directed by Anita Banbury.
The Orlando Singers are well known in Auckland and, as well as numerous recitals and concerts, have been regularly recorded for both radio and television.
The concert at 7.30pm is at Ponsonby Baptist Church, 43 Jervois Rd.
Tickets cost $25, or $20 for unwaged.
On song: The Orlando Singers are performing tonight as part of their 40th anniversary celebrations.
