Bud­dhism talk aims for a tran­quil yule­tide

Christ­mas can be a tu­mul­tuous time.

To help peo­ple find some seren­ity this year a Bud­dhist teacher is vis­it­ing Auck­land to give a free pub­lic talk on in­ner peace.

World renowned Bud­dhist teacher Gen-la Kel­sang Deky­ong will come from the UK to pro­mote peace at Christ­mas.

The free event will be held in the Con­cert Cham­ber of the Auck­land Town Hall from 7pm to 8.30pm on Wed­nes­day.

Gen-la Kel­sang Deky­ong is the gen­eral spir­i­tual di­rec­tor of the New Kadampa Tra­di­tion of Bud­dhism, which has 1100 med­i­ta­tion cen­tres and groups in 40 coun­tries.

Gen-la is a mod­ern Bud­dhist nun ded­i­cated to help­ing peo­ple from all walks of life at­tain last­ing hap­pi­ness through de­vel­op­ing in­ner peace.

She is teach­ing for the first time in Auck­land and will give a talk ti­tled In­ner peace through mod­ern Bud­dhism, fo­cus­ing on the ap­pli­ca­tion of an­cient Bud­dhist meth­ods to solve the prob­lems of to­day’s life­style.

She will teach that the real source of hap­pi­ness lies within the mind, not ex­ter­nal con­di­tions.

The event is open to ev­ery­body and book­ings are not re­quired.
