Thanks for your story on the Woodward Rd level crossing, ( Central Leader, December 5).
The best solution is clearly a bridge but that’s unlikely anytime soon.
However, I want to make this comment:
I have noticed that when I’ve had to wait for a train, the barriers are down and the lights flash for what seems to be an excessive length of time.
In fact, I have often wondered if the machinery has a fault or if a train is even coming at all.
This kind of delay not only causes even more congestion than is necessary but is conducive to people taking risks, like going around the barriers.
Can the waiting time be shortened to alleviate this scenario?
