Waitakere kept at bay by Cornwall

Central Leader - - SPORT -

There was plenty to celebrate for Cornwall Cricket Club after Saturday’s play in round five of the Jeff Crowe Cup.

Cornwall took the match by 123 runs as Waitakere failed to capitalise on its recent form as the one-day competition resumed on Saturday at Cornwall Park.

Waitakere’s mediumpacer Praneel Hira says Cornwall played smart right throughout.

‘‘Cornwall put the clamps on with their spinners and we were always behind the 8-ball,’’ he says.
