Free con­certs are just the ticket

Mu­sic fans are turn­ing out in their droves for Auck­land Coun­cil’s free Mu­sic in Parks con­certs.

More than 3500 peo­ple rocked out to home­grown band I Am Gi­ant and sup­port acts Fire At Will, Ekko Park and 71 Sun­set at Three Kings Re­serve last Satur­day.

The event was the first of the se­ries’ big gigs with per­for­mances from Auck­land folk band Avalanche City and RnB act Adeaze still to come.

Avalanche City will per­form at Kings­land’s Nixon Park on March 2. Pi­anist and com­poser Kevin Field will be per­form­ing at Al­bert Park on March 3.
