The New Zealand Masters Games for ma­ture ath­letes al­ter­nates each year be­tween Dunedin and Whanganui

This year’s Masters Games is the 23rd to be held across the two cities

The games started in 1989 when 1500 en­trants com­peted across 29 sports

To­day, the 10-day event com­prises of 55 dif­fer­ent sports and more than 2400 in­di­vid­ual events

Fenc­ing and Ul­ti­mate Fris­bee are new ad­di­tions to the lineup this year

This year’s games run from Fe­bru­ary 1-10 in Whanganui.
