Con­cert helps cats

A con­cert for cat lovers is be­ing held to fundraise for the Lonely Miaow As­so­ci­a­tion.

Miaowsic: Fur­ther Songs for Furry Peo­ple is the lat­est in a se­ries of mu­si­cal events held at Al­ber­ton homestead to raise money to help the aban­doned cats of Auck­land.

The con­cert is the idea of mezzo-so­prano Margo Knight­bridge and will present a mix of mu­sic from clas­si­cal to folk and songs from mu­si­cal the­atre.

Shar­ing the pro­gramme with Ms Knight­bridge will be star tenor Iain Tet­ley.

The singers will be ac­com­pa­nied at the pi­ano by mae­stro War­wick Gibbs.

Lonely Miaow is a non­profit or­gan­i­sa­tion that has been ded­i­cated to the res­cue of stray and aban­doned fe­lines in the Auck­land re­gion more than 20 years.

The Miaowsic con­cert will take place on Fe­bru­ary 17 from 3pm at Al­ber­ton Homestead, 100 Mt Al­bert Rd.


Seat­ing in the ball­room is lim­ited to 60 chairs so book­ing is es­sen­tial.

Furry friend: Mezzo-so­prano Margo Knight­bridge will be per­form­ing at a con­cert to raise money for Lonely Miaow.
