Concert helps cats
A concert for cat lovers is being held to fundraise for the Lonely Miaow Association.
Miaowsic: Further Songs for Furry People is the latest in a series of musical events held at Alberton homestead to raise money to help the abandoned cats of Auckland.
The concert is the idea of mezzo-soprano Margo Knightbridge and will present a mix of music from classical to folk and songs from musical theatre.
Sharing the programme with Ms Knightbridge will be star tenor Iain Tetley.
The singers will be accompanied at the piano by maestro Warwick Gibbs.
Lonely Miaow is a nonprofit organisation that has been dedicated to the rescue of stray and abandoned felines in the Auckland region more than 20 years.
The Miaowsic concert will take place on February 17 from 3pm at Alberton Homestead, 100 Mt Albert Rd.
Seating in the ballroom is limited to 60 chairs so booking is essential.
Furry friend: Mezzo-soprano Margo Knightbridge will be performing at a concert to raise money for Lonely Miaow.
