Ambrosia Singers choir calls for more members

The Ambrosian Singers Auckland choir has places for sopranos, tenors and basses for 2013.

The choir was the first to give a modern-day performance of the oldest known indigenous Welsh chant, identified in research by musical director Gillian Lander. The 14th century chant concerns St David and has since been used by BBC Television in its series The Story of Wales, screened in 2012.

Ambrosia gives its singers the opportunity to sing rare music as well as a range of styles old and new. Singers come from all parts of Auckland. The choir is based in Birkenhead and its rehearsals are held on Thursday evenings.
