Central Leader - - NEWS -

A teenager escaped relatively unscathed after a bizarre collision with a car. Avondale police Senior Sergeant Ross EndicottDavies says the 19-year-old is believed to have been on drugs when the collision happened on Mt Albert Rd at 10am on Saturday. ‘‘It was enough to smash the car’s windscreen and dent the roof,’’ he says. ‘‘But he’s gotten up, taken off his jeans, and run away. ‘‘He was found running around in his boxer shorts,’’ Mr Endicott-Davies says. He says the teenager’s injuries were only minor and since it is unclear how he ended up on the road he has not been charged.
