Runners of all ages and abilities can test their strength and grit across courses at Pakuranga’s Lloyd Elsmore Park for the Athletics Auckland X Run this month.

The cross-country race will be held on May 11 and is open to nonregistered runners who can race or plod across distances from 2 to 10 kilometres.

Race director Jackie Russell says Athletics Auckland wants to encourage runners of all abilities to give crosscountry running a go.

‘‘The runs are perfect for serious cross-country runners as well as cross- fit trainers, boot campers and anyone who loves having a bit of variety in their running routine.’’

Races are broken down into age groups from junior to senior levels.

The course at Lloyd Elsmore Park is fairly flat and can be muddy in wet weather.

Get set: Athletics Auckland is calling runners of all ages and abilities to take part in its May 11 cross-country run.
