1103 STEPS TO THE TOP
STAFF from the New Zealand Blood Service are tackling any flight of steps they can find in preparation for a 1103-stair ascent on Friday.
The second annual Corporate Sky Tower Stair Climb Challenge is being held this week to raise money for Leukaemia and Blood Cancer New Zealand.
Nephi Arthur from the blood service says about 24 per cent of its red cells go to cancer patients which is why it decided to participate in the challenge.
‘‘We deal a lot with people who have cancer so doing the stair climb is one way we can recognise those recipients,’’ he says.
More than 40 teams have entered the corporate challenge.
