Lions thrash Eagles
Defending champions Mt Albert Lions thrashed the Papakura Sea Eagles during their Fox Memorial Shield rugby league clash on May 4.
The rain was falling at Prince Edward Park in Papakura and some of the Sea Eagles supporters would have been wishing they stayed in bed as their side went down 52-0 to an impressive Lions outfit.
Mt Albert have only lost one game this season but trail newcomers Mangere East Hawks in the premier division who stay unbeaten after they defeated Northcote 32-20 at the weekend.
In another Fox clash, Bay Roskill Vikings took on Otahuhu Leopards in tough conditions. Otahuhu came out on top, winning 44-28.
The home crowd were happy they braved the weather to see their team storm to victory, but Bay Roskill supporters left knowing the result has their team sitting at the bottom of the table.
