Residents and businesses interested in the unitary plan are invited to a series of public meetings to help them better understand what it will mean for them. The plan is open for public consultation until May 31.
The Albert-Eden Local Board is organising the meetings in response to the huge public reaction to the proposal.
‘‘We’ve been delighted at the huge interest in the plan – more than for any other such plan in living memory,’’ board chairman Peter Haynes says.
Drop-in sessions are also being held for residents who prefer a one-on-one discussion. Meeting times are: Mt Albert Bowling Club, 10 Allendale Rd, May 23, at 7.30pm
