Plan meet­ings

Res­i­dents and busi­nesses in­ter­ested in the uni­tary plan are in­vited to a se­ries of pub­lic meet­ings to help them bet­ter un­der­stand what it will mean for them. The plan is open for pub­lic con­sul­ta­tion un­til May 31.

The Al­bert-Eden Lo­cal Board is or­gan­is­ing the meet­ings in re­sponse to the huge pub­lic reaction to the pro­posal.

‘‘We’ve been de­lighted at the huge in­ter­est in the plan – more than for any other such plan in liv­ing mem­ory,’’ board chair­man Peter Haynes says.

Drop-in ses­sions are also be­ing held for res­i­dents who pre­fer a one-on-one dis­cus­sion. Meet­ing times are: Mt Al­bert Bowl­ing Club, 10 Al­len­dale Rd, May 23, at 7.30pm

San­dring­ham Com­mu­nity Cen­tre, 18 Kitch­ener Rd, May 20, 7.30pm

Auck­land Deaf So­ci­ety, 164 Bal­moral Rd, May 16, 7.30pm.

Li­brary ses­sion times are:

May 13, 2pm to 4pm, May 20, 10am to noon, May 24, 10am to noon, and May 26, 1pm to 3pm

Epsom Li­brary, 195 Manukau Rd.
